I got my 485 approved yesterday. I applied for my 485 this June 13th I got my approval yesterday I am very happy about it. I hope everyone who applied will get their approval soon. Basically I am in marketing I want to get trained in java to get into IT field. Please let me know you�re thought is this a good move.

I agree, what did I do for IV for the past few months, nothing. Responded to one or two threads. Been very busy at work and was not able to contribute constructively to this organization. I am wondering how many of us are in this same boat, what are we all actually doing in helping the organization from either volunteering, getting more people to open their eyes and recognize a problem and organize and mobilize people. I have been trying for the past 4 years and its not easy and not always successful. To see the leadership team constantly juggling between work and working on different initiatives and putting in self less hours really requires appreciation. Now I think its worth asking ourselves, how much have we done or are willing to do to take us to where all of us want to be IMHO.
let me ask you this. did anyone from "leadership" call/email/contact you when you were inactive/busy with your life. if the leaders did not call/email you, how will you know if your help is needed. i don't see how its u'r fault

Hello All,
Some food for thought.
As I understand we (i.e IV) has 21000 members and 14000 active members. If even each active member contrubute $ 20 per month, that would be $ 420,000 per month or about $ 5 Mn per year.
Imagine the miracles that we can do with that kind of fund!! And I am damn sure that we can afford $ 20 per month. Cost of few gallons of gas per month.
Non contributing, active members! Please wake up atleast now and do some soul searching!!!
I do agree , but I do not see any $20 contribution in google checkout or paypal.We have to mail the checks.I guess we can get more contributions if we include $25,$50,$75 contributions in google checkout as well as paypal.Correct me If I am missing some thing.

This is specifically for those people who have never contributed but feel like contributing but for some reason hesitate to pull the trigger. For all such people who start a monthly contribution of $50 and promise (not to me or anyone else but themselves) to keep contributing for at least the next 6 months, I am going to make a one-time contribution of $50 for every such person. I have a modest upper limit, which I will disclose after the first 10 new contributors.
So people, Sept 18th is approaching fast and IV needs your contribution. Now is the time.
The only requirement is that the member has never contributed before and starts a $50 dollar recurring contribution. For every two new contributors I will make a $100 one-time contribution. Moderators may verify my contribution.
This is great thinking and wonderful initiative. It is a lesson how we all can be creative and help others motivate. It reminds of a story. There were two teams US and Japanese. They each were divided into two groups each and made to stand facing each other. There was a imaginary line drawn and the goal of each team is to convince their team members on the other side of the line to cross over. US Team were never able to convince their team members to cross over and move to other side.
Japanese simply said to their team members on other side.. If you cross over we will also cross over.. and they won. As simple as it may sound here is a classic example shown by Milind. You rock Milind.
And you make me feel proud in being associated with you in this struggle for our cause.
I am also in the drive for funds with my indifferent colleagues. See you in DC.

I don't think so. Eventhough they make U in september bulletin. They have to move dates in October bulletin because of new visa numbers.
I can understand the excitement. I am also in EB2 2005 PD. But the fact is that, this seems like a temporary movement only...i don't think dates can stay at 2006, going by simple math.
PPl can give me those red marks, but i think dates will retrogress again by Oct.

Just remember.. if we are not united, we ain't getting nothing. Lets work on Recapture of wasted numbers. Thats the only inflow we can rely on. We don't have to wait for their charity every month in the name of left over numbers or spill over numbers. We want our legal GCs. We worked hard to earn it. I am really appalled at the responses for the facts I posted here on the forum. I apologize to all who are offended by the posts.However I strongly believe that my comments represent facts.Personally I do not believe an individual can "bash" a country. I have certainly erred with my presumption that my opinions/comments would be received with some maturity of thoughts instead of surging patriotic emotions.
I have expressed thoughts about immigration where some policies of US are severely criticized. At this point I can only urge the community to read/write with a certain openness of mind to have a fair exchange of experiences and opinions.

Another soft LUD on the 485 on 11/26.
This is the 3rd soft LUD on the 485 (11/24, 11/25, 11/26) post sending AC21 and G28N documentation.
485 status still says Case received and Pending.
I hope this isn't followed by a denial, I have to travel outside the country in 2 weeks and it would be nice to not have to worry about this.

I just now talked to an IO and she said that last Friday the processing dates for NSC are all wrong and its a mistake. Those will be corrected soon in couple of days.
here we go again....looks like USCIS never learns by their mistakes.........anyways I feel Processing dates does not matter anyways for USCIS to process the applications..........

What can we do, so that USCIS does not really issue that many FS category visas during 2007 - 2008?
It is so confusing that I do not know how to explain the whole thing.
Here is a small sample.
In 2002 all the EB visas were issued(174,968). However, there were 31,532 unused family preference visas, so the limit for 2003 was 171,532 (140,000 + 31,532).
Guess what, in 2003 they only approved 82,137 EB visas, so they ended up with 88,482 unused EB visas
